Appearing on HBO's "Joe Buck Live" tonight, Brett Favre discussed the possibility of coming out of retirement for a second time and pretty much confirmed everything we've heard and/or suspected: He's serious about playing in 2009 and the Minnesota Vikings are the only team he's interested in playing for.
Provided, that is, his surgically-repaired shoulder cooperates and the Vikings work out a suitable contract.

Orton Named Broncos' Starting QB; Marshall Still AWOL

As first reported by the Denver Post, Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels named Kyle Orton his starting quarterback on Saturday afternoon. Orton had been competing with Chris Simms for the job throughout the season.
Orton, who was acquired from the Chicago Bears in April as part of the Jay Cutler trade, was named the starter with two days remaining in the Broncos' off-season mini-camp training program.

Eagles Rework McNabb's Contract; Veteran QB Gets A Raise

The Eagles announced Thursday evening that they have restructured the final two years of quarterback Donovan McNabb's contract. "We are thrilled that this all worked out," Eagles president Joe Banner said in a statement released by the team's official web site. "He is a great football player, a great person, and someone who gives back to the community.
"We are lucky to have him in Philadelphia."

It's Official: Surgery For Westbrook

The Eagles responded to the reports that running back Brian Westbrook will undergo surgery by announcing on Wednesday night that Westbrook indeed will have his right ankle operated on this Friday.
The procedure, a debridement, will be performed by Dr. Mark Meyerson in Baltimore.
